I think the recent economic crisis has made us all aware just how fragile things can be financially. I remember when I was going to school and it would always seem to take spring break forever to arrive. We would usually get out of school for a week and it was also a sign that the school year was close to the end. Going with some friends over Spring break and worrying about the the possibility of a rv breakdown always loomed in our minds. I have had some really fun spring breaks during those days. We never did have the money to go to Florida for spring break, so we wasn’t the kids searching for those travel deals when our spring break arrived. We would just load up in somebody’s car and pack a few swimming trunks, fishing rods, food and other camping supplies to spend a week on the lake.

When I attended Washington State University I remember having to camp out overnight to get into the good off campus housing. Probably the only thing worse was the GMAT prep course work that needed to be done in order to test into college. The only way you knew about available apartments were through the local school bulletin board in the main hall, or through the local school newspaper. At our campus it was either live in the dorms, which were only meant for Freshmans, Greek row, or off site housing. My two good friends and I decided to live in off site apartments, and we quickly learned the first year that not all apartments are created equally.
